About
Hi I’m Kevin.
I am the overly proud father of two girls, who are both teenagers now. They are the loves and joys in my life. It’s a bit of a cliche, but I truly don’t remember what I did before I had children. Probably because of all the wine I drink. Which brings me to the other aspects of my life I enjoy when I’m not being told how things are by my daughters, I make, drink and study (another word for drink) wine. The wine I make is called Bin 504 and, no, I don’t make it in my bath tub nor do I use my feet to crush the grapes. We even have our own Facebook Fan Page so we must be something, right?
I love music, especially jazz music, and I am a New Orleanian at heart. My general sports philosophy is: Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, Tar Heels…good. Yankees, Lakers, Duke…bad. Oh, and being a New Orleanian at heart means that I am a huge Saints fan. One of the highlights of my life was being down in New Orleans during the superbowl when the Saints beat the Colts. What an amazing scene.
By day, I am an IT Director, and have been in IT for over 25 years. I’m also a published author having written technical articles and penned opinion columns for various magazines and web sites. I have written one book and co-authored one other, each of a technical nature. A second edition of my book is due out in January, 2011. If you actually want to read some of my stuff, check out the “Where To Find Me” tab on this site.
So, about my site. I will write, photograph, and video about things that are important to me, or at least important to me at that moment. I could stop there and that would probably tell you what you need to know about this site, but in case you’re a bit more curious, I can tell you that I will write about adventures with family and friends, wine and wine making, New Orleans, jazz and the combination of New Orleans and jazz. However, that said, there will also be topics that come up that I don’t even know yet, that will just hit me and prompt me to post on this site. Maybe a conversation, a situation, or just a thought. Of course, there are also topics that I don’t think I will ever cover, but I hesitate to mention because one never knows. Are we clear on that?
Thanks for visiting.
